About Us

What do most people wear?

"What do people wear at Lighthouse?" Believe t or not it's one of our most asked questions.

You might be wondering if we wear suits, jeans, khakis or capris. The answer is yes.

First and foremost come as you are.  But, just in case you're wondering how most people around here will be dressed it's pretty broad. The majority of people will be dressed casually, a lot of guys wear khakis or jeans and a polo or button up shirt. Ladies wear jeans, pants, skirts, and dresses.

Most importantly though we look forward to seeing you, not what you're wearing.

Will I be pointed out as a guest?

No. We understand that as a first or second time guest you may want to come and check us out without any obligations to us or expectations from us. You may be new to the whole church scene and are feeling some anxeity just being here so we want you to relax and enjoy the day.

We do however have a connection card available where you can fill in as much information as you are comfortable with and also helps us to get feedback on your experience with us. We will not put you on a mailing list or send you any junk mail. We simply follow up with a letter or email thanking and acknowledging your time with us.

 How long are the services?

Our 9:00am service runs one hour and ends at 10:00 and our 10:30 service usually ends around 11:40.

Will I be expected to give money?

The short answer is no. We are a member supported church where those who regularly attend Lighthouse give voluntarily to support the ministries and services we provide. When you come as a guest there is no expectation for you to give and you will occasionally hear us state that. We want you to come and enjoy the day and not feel any pressure to give unless you decide to do so.

Do you have children's programs?

Yes. We have programs for all children up to age 11. For children up to age 3 we have a nursery and for those from 4 to 11 we have an age appropriate and relavant program staffed by our children's pastor, Hilary Oram, and an incredible team of volunteers.

All volunteers have had criminal record checks to ensure the safety of your children. The Kids Cove program runs at the same time as the service so children go directly into the Kids Cove area and need to be signed in and out of the program by parents to guardians. To find the Kids Cove area go down the stairs immediately to your right when you enter the main doors of the building.

 Coffee Break.

Yes thats right we serve coffee and it's free. During our second service we have a five minute coffee break that takes place between the worship time and the preaching. The purpose of this break is to give opportunity for people to connect and greet each other and to get another cup of our Ashanti coffee which comes from Zimbabwe, Africa and supports missions projects there.

 Worship:

Worship. It's an interesting word that has different meanings for different people. We believe that worship is honoring God through music, video, drama, and the teaching of the Word.

Our services are primarily made up of contemporary praise songs creating an atmosphere of worship in which  people can express their heart in praise to God through an impacting time of worship.
